As Diablo 4 gears up to celebrate its second anniversary this June, Blizzard Entertainment has officially confirmed an in-game event to mark the occasion. While full details remain under wraps, the event promises themed rewards, free items, and a deeper dive into the dark world of Sanctuary.
Celebrating Two Years of Diablo 4
First released in June 2023, Diablo 4 redefined the series with its massive open world, shared multiplayer zones, and a darker, more mature tone. One year later, Blizzard hosted a limited-time first anniversary event, which included:
-
Increased Treasure Goblin spawns
-
Free cosmetic rewards
-
The return of Mother’s Blessing, boosting XP and gold gains
-
A timeline from June 6–20, 2024
This year, fans are expecting even more surprises as the franchise enters its third year.
New Reliquary Confirmed by Blizzard
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Adam Fletcher, Diablo’s Director of Social and Content Marketing, confirmed that the second-anniversary event is coming and that players will receive a free Reliquary as part of the celebration.
Reliquaries, first introduced in Diablo 4 Season 8, are systems that allow players to unlock cosmetic items by defeating monsters throughout Sanctuary. The new free Reliquary should include anniversary-themed rewards, though Blizzard has not yet detailed exactly what they will contain.
