The upcoming movie serves as the official sequel to Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 3: Rebellion. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale online on December 11, 2026, with additional sales available at participating theaters.
To celebrate the North American release, Aniplex of America also unveiled an exclusive US promotional visual illustrated by artist Namie.
Walpurgisnacht Rising Follows Multiple Delays
Walpurgisnacht: Rising has experienced several delays since its initial announcement. The film was originally planned to premiere in Japan during winter 2024, but its release was subsequently postponed multiple times before settling on an August 28, 2026, Japanese premiere.
As the next chapter following Rebellion, the film continues the story of the Madoka Magica universe, which blends magical-girl fantasy with psychological drama and darker supernatural themes. The upcoming theatrical release will give US audiences an opportunity to experience the latest installment on the big screen.
Madoka Magica Movie Trilogy Heads to Streaming
Aniplex of America also announced new distribution plans for the original movie trilogy during its convention panel.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginnings, Part 2: Eternal, and Part 3: Rebellion are scheduled to arrive on Crunchyroll on November 8, 2026, followed by Netflix on January 2, 2027.
The trilogy will also receive Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese dubs for the first time, beginning November 15, 2026.
