The Girls Band Cry compilation movies are set to arrive on Crunchyroll in North America, giving fans another opportunity to experience the story of the original music anime. The two-part theatrical compilation revisits key events from the television series, following the journey of the girls as they pursue their musical ambitions.
However, an official streaming release date has not yet been announced. Viewers in North America will have to wait for further updates regarding when both movies will become available on the platform.
Originally released as a television anime, Girls Band Cry follows Nina Iseri, a young woman who moves to Tokyo after leaving her hometown behind. As she adjusts to her new life, she encounters other aspiring musicians and eventually becomes involved with the rock band Togenashi Togeari.
The series explores the challenges of pursuing a career in music, with its characters facing personal struggles, emotional conflicts, and difficult decisions along the way. Their shared passion for performing helps bring them together as they work toward their goals.
The two compilation movies condense the original anime’s story into a theatrical format, allowing audiences to revisit important moments from the band’s formation and development. The films also offer newcomers a more streamlined way to experience the story without watching every episode of the television series.
The reported Crunchyroll release would make the compilation movies more accessible to anime fans across North America, particularly those who prefer watching anime through streaming services. It could also introduce the series to viewers who have not yet followed Nina and her bandmates’ musical journey.
Despite the anticipated streaming availability, several details remain unconfirmed. These include the exact release date and whether both compilation movies will arrive on Crunchyroll simultaneously.
For now, fans should watch for an official announcement from Crunchyroll or the relevant rights holders before expecting the films to become available.
With its combination of original music, character-driven storytelling, and emotional performances, Girls Band Cry offers a distinctive take on the music anime genre. The upcoming Crunchyroll release could provide another opportunity for North American audiences to discover the story of Togenashi Togeari.
Further details about the streaming schedule are expected once an official release date is confirmed.
