Stellar Blade PC demo hits over 26,000 concurrent players on Steam

The PC demo for Stellar Blade has pulled in an impressive number of concurrent players on Steam, signaling strong anticipation ahead of its full launch. Developer Shift Up released the free PC demo on May 30, offering gamers a chance to experience the game’s high-octane combat and test their rigs before the full release drops on June 11 via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Originally launched in 2024 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, Stellar Blade quickly became a breakout hit, selling over 1 million units in just two months. The game’s sci-fi setting, fluid combat system, and RPG elements earned praise from critics and players alike.

While a PC version had been hinted at earlier in the year during a financial briefing, the official release date came only recently. The PC version of Stellar Blade will arrive as a Complete Edition, featuring upgraded performance, ultra-high-resolution textures, ultrawide monitor support, and compatibility with both Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3.

On May 30, Shift Up confirmed via social media that the demo is now available in nearly 250 regions worldwide. Early traction has been strong: according to SteamDB, the demo peaked at 26,443 concurrent players, a remarkable figure given that the game has already been available on PS5 for over a year.

While the free price tag certainly helped fuel interest, the player count reflects growing excitement for the PC launch. This momentum marks a significant achievement for Shift Up, a rising force in the global game development scene and one of the few high-profile Korean studios making waves internationally.

As the full release draws near, it’s clear that Stellar Blade is on track to become one of the most talked-about PC action RPGs of the year. Fans looking for a mix of cinematic flair and tight combat mechanics should definitely keep this one on their radar.
