The highly anticipated final chapter of the Rascal Does Not Dream light novel anime series is officially set to premiere in July 2025, during the summer anime season. Titled Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus (Seishun Buta Yarou wa Santa Claus no Yume wo Minai), the new installment promises an emotional and nostalgic finale for fans of the series.
The story follows Azusagawa Sakuta as he begins his new life at university, accompanied by familiar faces like Futaba Rio. Adding a nostalgic element to the narrative, Sakuta reunites with his junior high school friend Akagi Ikumi — the same friend who once stood by him while protecting his younger sister from bullying during their middle school years.
A new and important character will also be introduced: Mitou Miori, Sakuta’s classmate from elementary school. She will play a pivotal role in this arc, as it is revealed that she is the true identity behind the enigmatic figure known as Miniskirt Santa.
The series will once again be produced by CloverWorks, the studio responsible for the franchise’s animation since its first season through its third theatrical movie — the latest of which premiered in Japan on December 1, 2023.
Aniplex returns as the production committee for this final arc, maintaining its involvement from the very beginning of the series. The voice cast for this installment has also been officially revealed:
