In an unexpected move, 12 EA and Codemasters games have been quietly delisted from Steam, including popular racing and action titles. According to SteamDB, the removal happened on Friday, March 14, and was flagged with an “app_retired_publisher_request” tag — suggesting that EA itself initiated the takedown.

What Games Were Delisted?

Here’s the complete list of delisted games:

Previously Reported Racing Titles:

  • F1 2012
  • F1 2013
  • F1 2014
  • F1 Race Stars
  • GRID
  • TOCA Race Driver 3

Newly Delisted Codemasters Titles:

While some of these were developed by Codemasters (like Operation Flashpoint and Toybox Turbos), others—such as Damnation and Hospital Tycoon—were only published by the studio.

Why the Sudden Removal?

Neither EA nor Codemasters has provided a formal reason, but the SteamDB app_retired_publisher_request strongly suggests an internal decision by EA. Possible reasons include expired licenses, low sales, or plans to repackage or remaster older titles.

Can You Still Play These Games?

Yes — if you already own any of these titles, they will remain in your Steam library and be fully playable. However, new purchases are no longer possible through Steam.

Fan Reactions & What’s Next

Many fans are disappointed, especially those hoping to complete their collections or relive nostalgic gameplay. With no official statement from EA, speculation is running wild about future plans for these older titles. For now, gamers are left with more questions than answers.
