Brave Group, the parent company of the virtual eSports VTuber agency VSPO!, has announced significant legal measures in response to the creation, distribution, and monetization of explicit sexual illustrations featuring talents from the project. The company issued an official statement on February 16, 2026, detailing its findings and subsequent actions.
In the announcement, Brave Group explained that its internal investigation uncovered repeated production and online distribution of sexually explicit artwork portraying VTubers affiliated with VSPO!. According to the company, these activities directly violated its strict content policies, which prohibit the creation and commercialization of sexually explicit depictions of the characters and talents under its management. The policies are designed to protect the image and integrity of the creators and the agency’s intellectual property.
Brave Group identified an individual responsible for repeatedly producing and selling the prohibited illustrations on various online platforms, including social media and digital art sharing websites. Following confirmation of the person’s identity, the company pursued legal avenues to address the infringement. As part of the legal demands, Brave Group required the permanent removal of all violating content, a complete cessation of any similar future activities, and a commitment to refrain from copyright violations or defamatory conduct against VSPO! talents.
The initial claim included a damages demand of 10 million yen. However, after negotiations, Brave Group and the individual reached an agreement. Under the settlement, part of the compensation obligation was waived in exchange for a payment of 4 million yen within a specified period. The company justified this resolution by noting the individual’s cooperative attitude, which included a formal apology and voluntary disclosure of all income derived from the illustrations.
Brave Group also stressed that the agreed compensation amount still exceeded the total financial benefit the individual earned from the prohibited activities. The company emphasized that it remains committed to protecting its talents and will continue to address other ongoing cases involving similar illicit content, including pursuing damages, engaging with hosting platforms, and, if necessary, pursuing criminal charges.
Brave Group reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining a safe and respectful creative environment for VSPO! talents, fans, and the wider digital community.
