Publisher Electronic Arts (EA) has officially reconfirmed that the next Battlefield game will launch by March 2026, with a full public reveal scheduled for Summer 2025. While the game hasn’t received an official title yet, fans and media alike are already referring to it as Battlefield 6.

The update comes directly from EA CEO Andrew Wilson during the company’s Q4 and Fiscal Year 2025 earnings call. Wilson described the upcoming entry as a “pivotal step” in the next generation of entertainment for the franchise, and one that EA is carefully crafting with substantial community involvement.

“This will be a pivotal step for the future of Battlefield, and a showcase of what’s possible with our next-generation technologies,” Wilson said.

Community-Driven Development Through Battlefield Labs

In a clear response to the rocky launch of Battlefield 2042 in 2021, EA is now placing a much stronger emphasis on community feedback. While 2042 has seen several post-launch improvements, it never fully regained early player trust. As a result, EA has launched the Battlefield Labs testing initiative — the largest community testing program in the franchise’s history.

Players involved in The Labs are given access to pre-release features and can share feedback in real time. Wilson confirmed that starting May 2025, Battlefield Labs will expand into more regions, including Europe, North America, and Asia, inviting more players to shape the game’s direction before release.

What to Expect from the Summer 2025 Reveal

Though Wilson didn’t specify whether the summer reveal would be part of Summer Game Fest 2025 or a standalone EA-hosted showcase, fans can expect a first real look at gameplay, setting, and next-gen mechanics. Speculation is already high that the game may return to a modern or semi-futuristic warfare theme, featuring advanced destruction physics and large-scale combat.

EA’s approach reflects a “player-first” philosophy, suggesting the publisher has learned from past missteps and is committed to delivering a polished, community-driven Battlefield experience.
